What each account type and permission allows

Guide

How access works in Timble: account types decide who someone is, permissions decide what a manager or duty manager can do, and assignments decide where.

Three things on a person's profile decide what they can reach in Timble.

  • Account type decides who they are: Admin, Manager, Duty Manager or Member.
  • Permissions decide what a manager or duty manager can do.
  • Assignments decide where. A manager or duty manager acts only in the departments ticked on their Assignments tab.

Account types

Admin is usually the person who set up the business. An admin can do everything, in every location, with nothing to tick. Admin can't be chosen on a profile, and an admin can't be deactivated.

Manager runs a team or a location. They can do only what is ticked for them, and manage duty managers and members, not admins or other managers.

Duty Manager is a step below a manager. They can have any permission except approving managers' leave, manage members only, and can't change anyone's permissions.

Member is everyone else. They use the mobile app and time clock app, and see only their own shifts, leave and timesheets.

Permissions

Changing someone's account type clears their permissions. Ticking a permission listed under another also ticks the one above, and unticking the one above clears everything under it.
